Challenge Cup holders Warrington Wolves got their season off to a flying start with a resounding 58-0 home win over Harlequins in Leeds Monday.

Winger Chris Riley crossed five times in their 11-try rout while former Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles star Michael Monaghan was one of the leading lights.

Quins were missing some of their key players including former Sydney Rooster Luke Dorn and simply could not live with the home side's attacking play.

Wolves Super League debutant Richie Myler set up Gareth Carvell with a clever inside ball and then Monaghan turned provider for Richie Mathers to ease his way through the defense.

Monaghan got in on the act with a fantastic individual score before Chris Bridge and Riley helped Wolves establish a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime.

Worse was to follow for the Londoners after the break as Myler and Simon Grix added to their names to the scoresheet while Riley crossed four further times.

Wolves still trail Wakefield, who established themselves as Super League's early pacesetters by beating French outfit Catalans Dragons 28-20 for their second win of the season.

On a weekend of shocks, Castleford banished the memories of last August's 76-12 mauling at Headingley to stun Leeds Rhinos 24-10.

The Tigers got off to a stunning start when James Evans crossed over but Leeds had the lead at the break thanks to tries from Danny McGuire and former Gold Coast center Brett Delaney.

But it was all one-way after the break with ex-NRL half backs Brent Sherwin and Rangi Chase running the show.

Joe Westerman converted his own try to give them the lead before Chase sent Sherwin in for their next try.

And the win was sealed when Dean Widders finished off more good work from Chase.
