Ronnie Brown scored on a two-yard touchdown run with six seconds remaining to give the Miami Dolphins a 31-27 victory over the New York Jets on Tuesday in a thriller with five fourth-quarter lead changes.
Brown's second touchdown run of the night capped a 13- play, 70-yard march that lasted 5:06 as Dolphin quarterback Chad Henne drove Miami upfield after the Jets had reclaimed the lead for the second time in the final minutes.
"They played us hard but our guys had the determination inside and we just made a whole lot more plays than they did," Henne said.
The Dolphins improved to 2-3, beating two AFC East division rivals after losing their first three games of the season. The Jets fell to 3-2, level with New England for the AFC East lead after back-to-back losses.
"We start with the division first," Henne said. "Getting two division wins is great for us."
Each offensive unit answered the best the other could offer in a wild closing quarter.
