Wang Jing fails doping test, faces life ban

Women's 100-meter sprinter Wang Jing received a lifetime ban from competition for failing a drug test during the 11th Chinese National Games, a top Chinese athletics official said in Jinan, Shandong Province on Monday.

Shen Chunde, vice director of the Chinese Athletics Administration Center (CAAC), the country's track and field governing body, said, "CAAC has decided to ban Wang Jing and her coach for life from competition. But Wang has the right to appeal this decision and she can also ask for a check of her B sample."

Wang said she accepted the A sample results and chose to forego further tests.
