Gong wins women's shot-put gold

Chinese Gong Lijiao threw 19.04 meters to clinch the gold medal in the women's shot-put final. Her compatriot Liu Xiangrong took the silver with 17.55 meters, while Leyla Rajabi of Iran finished third with 16.71 meters.

Gong's personal best is 20.35 meters, set in China's National Games last month.
