A Chinese professional club supervision committee will be set up by China’s State Council to fight against football scandals, according to the 2009 Chinese Super Football League review meeting Monday in Kunming, Yunnan Province.

The committee will include 10 departments, which involves eight governmental agencies, including the General Administration of Sport of China, the Ministry of Public Security of China, State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China, State Administration of Taxation, National Audit Office of China, Bank of China, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Education.

Yang Yimin, vice president of the Chinese Football Association said that under the supervision of the committee, scandals like illegal gambling and "black whistles" where referees are bribed can be avoided.

Also with the involvement of Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the interests of football players can be effectively protected.

The committee will be managed by China’s State Council and local committees will also be set up later to supervise local football clubs.
