Nugget beat Lakers to even Western finals at 2-2

The Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 120-101 in Game 4 today to even out the Western Conference final at two games apiece.

Chauncey Billups and J.R. Smith each scored 24 points for the Nuggets, while LA’s Kobe Bryant whose average is 37 points in the series only got 34.

Denver’s Carmelo Anthony only got 15 points on 3-of-16 shooting with a sore ankle which was twisted early in the second quarter after tangling with Bryant.

The Nuggets’ reserves played crucial roles in the Game 4 with Smith scoring 12 of his 24 points in the last quarter. Seven Nuggets players finished with double-digit scoring.

The Lakers will host Game 5 in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
